Nappy Folds
Simple basics of origami are used to provide suitable nappy folds to attend to Baby's needs.

Below is a list of the most commonly used methods of folding nappies. Each has its special benefit and adjustments to suit the growth of your baby. Whilst there are some other very specialised nappy folds available, these folds shown will cover Baby's needs in almost all situations.

TRIANGLE FOR NEWBORNS

    1. Fold nappy once diagonally to make triangle.
    2. Fold triangle in half again to make smaller triangle.
    3.& 4. Place baby on nappy fold and join all three corners with a pin running sideways.

RECTANGLE FOR SMALL BABIES...

    1. Fold nappy in half.
    2. Fold top third down for a girl, fold bottom third up for a boy.
    3.& 4. Place baby on nappy fold and fasten with two pins running sideways and facing away from baby.

THICK TRIANGLE - FOR EXTRA ABSORBENCY.. (Ideal for night use)

    1. Fold nappy in half.
    2. Take corner A to B - to give folds as in diagram.
    3. Turn nappy over with triangular part underneath.
    4. Fold remaining square flap into the centre using two even folds, as shown by dotted lines in diagram.
    5 & 6. Place baby on nappy fold and pin with one pin running sideways.

NEAT NAPPY FOLD...

    1. Fold top and bottom corners to overlap, adjusting for size.
    2. Fold in left corner until its top edge is level with top fold.
    3. Fold in right corner the same way.
    4.& 5. Place baby on nappy fold and fasten with two pins running sideways and facing away from baby.

KITE NAPPY FOLD FOR OLDER BABIES...

    1. Fold in left and right hand corners until they meet.
    2. Fold down the top corner to make a triangle.
    3. Fold up the lower corner as in diagram.
    4.& 5. Place baby on the nappy fold and fasten with two pins running sideways and facing away from baby.

HINTS FOR BABY'S COMFORT AND SAFETY ...

    Keep nappies loosely fastened, especially at night.
    Always fasten with nappy pins running sideways and facing away from baby.
